KISS! Keep It Simple Stupid. As coaches, we often trade the good for the promise of perfect, missing opportunity after opportunity over the course of a game and season. Never miss an in-game opportunity again, as Dr. Andrew Fields dives into an animated chalk talk on how to build-in and attack defenses each and every play with pre-snap Options to your single Wide Receiver, regardless of play call or situation.

Defenses will be stressed as they make decisions on what to defend, who to defend, and when to defend it. Whether you are an Air Raid team or prefer more traditional two back schemes, these concepts will not only enhance your pass game efficiency on every level, but give your playmakers opportunities throughout each series, game, and season.

The benefits of aligning two receivers to one side of the field are obvious - they make defenses show coverage, force them to align properly, and take defenders away from the box. Whether as a standalone call or used as an RPO, whatever the run play or play grouping, having presnap route options force defenses to line up properly, respect the entire length and width of the field, and be mindful of match-ups. Join Dr. Andrew Fields for an animated chalk talk, as he breaks down these concepts step-by-step.

ROUTES INCLUDED

  • FEED Concept - Made popular by the New Orleans Saints and Philadelphia Eagles, Dr. Andrew Fields takes us step-by-step through the process of taking advantage of any defense using wide receivers to stress a defense horizontally, vertically, and athletically.
  • NOW Concept - Also known as a "Key" screen, these simple concepts are flexible enough to build into any scheme, and simple enough to teach at all levels.

Aligning three receivers to a side of the football is a staple of not only the Air Raid offense, but offenses across the country and at all levels. But too many coaches leave major matchup, athletic, and alignment advantages on the field, long after the game is over. Learn how to take advantage of defenses pre-snap, in real-time, and regardless of play call. Whether as a standalone call or used as an RPO, whatever the run play or play grouping, having presnap route options force defenses to line up properly, respect the entire length and width of the field, and be mindful of matchups. In an animated chalk talk, Dr. Andrew Fields takes us step-by-step through some of the most successful concepts the football world has to offer.

ROUTES INCLUDED

  • Bubble Concept - Dr. Andrew Fields dives into the oft-run, but rarely consistently executed concept of using the Bubble screen as a presnap option to any run play in your gameplan. In this tutorial, Coach McKay talks about keys and triggers to throw the Bubble, WR blocking angles and tips that will help any offense using trips as a formation.
  • SMU Replace Concept - Presnap options that stress a defender are not uncommon. When these options begin to vertically stress defenders, it creates an entirely new element for a defense to plan for.
  • Stick Concept - One of the most basic, universally run pass routes in the world of football, we'll take a look at the nuts and bolts of exactly how to consistently and efficiently run this high percentage route, and how to incorporate it as a presnap pass option for any play that may be called.

One of the most difficult tasks for any play caller is determining what the defense will be in on the next play, and then matching that with the perfect play call.

Join Dr. Andrew Fields for an animated chalk talk, as he breaks down two commonly-run NFL full field quick game concepts to take advantage of any defensive coverage. These concepts have built-in opportunities for the offense on any given play, whether it's man, blitz, no matter what the defense presents, routes are built-in to win.

ROUTES INCLUDED

  • Houston Quick Game Concept - Puts our Quarterback fully in control, allows your offense to dictate to any defensive coverage and pressure. Whether man, zone, 1 high or 2 high.
  • Arizona Quick Game Concept - Gives immediate Quick Game answers vs any coverage, any pressure, and any situation, all while putting your playmakers in space, and your offense at a decisive advantage.

There are very few offensive plays in football with the low-risk, high reward benefit that goes along with the 3-Step Quick Game.

But there is more to these concepts than meets the eye, with coverage beaters embedded within each concept - whether cover 3, cover 2, man, or blitz, the 3-step quick game an oft-used, but commonly underestimated and misunderstood concept for all playbooks.

In this animated chalk talk, Dr. Andrew Fields breaks down these concepts in meticulous detail, including Quick Game protection, QB progressions, multiple formations, WR Route adjustments vs. various coverages, and how the QB and WR will defeat any coverage.

ROUTES INCLUDED

  • Hitch Combination - Hitch, Stop, Quick, Buttonhook...no matter what you call it, explore how this route can be the most efficient, consistent, diverse, and effective route in your playbook!
  • Speed Out Combination - A uniquely efficient quick game route that allows coaches to take advantage of leverage, matchups, and puts our athletes precisely where we want them - one-on-one and in space to make they plays they're on the field to make.
  • Slant Combination - This often-run, but rarely understood route was made popular back in the 80s, with the likes of Bill Walsh and Jerry Rice. But why is this route so popular?
  • Spacing Concept - Create easy, high percentage throws for your Quarterback. This concept is adaptable to any style of offense. Whether you are a two back or one back team, with or without Tight Ends, this should be a staple in any offense.

Long gone are the days of teams lining up in I Formation with two Tight Ends, and barreling forward for 3 yards and a cloud of dust against an 8 man front! Over the past decade, more and more teams, from the professional ranks right on down to the youth programs, have implemented effective 1 back run schemes. Indeed, the idea of spreading teams out horizontally, creating natural running lanes and attacking defenses via formation is an extremely effective run game tactic utilized by coaches of all levels.

Join Dr. Andrew Fields as he facilitates an animated chalk talk, debunking the common misconception that football teams can't be effective, physical, and ultimately productive on the ground out of 1 back formations.

SCHEMES INCLUDED

  • Dart - The staple of the Air Raid offense, Dart offers the flexibility to be run out of various formations, isolating the playside linebacker.
  • Load - One of the most effective plays in all of football, Load brings numbers to the point of attack, while allowing our frontside to create double teams and angles to break down any defense.
  • Power - Perhaps the most battle-tested run play in all of football, power is arguably more effective - and definitely more diverse - out of 1 back.

The Air Raid is typically thought of as a "10 Personnel" offense, leaving 4 receivers and a running back to the devices of the quarterback. However, as the game of football continues to evolve, coaches around the country have realized that 20 personnel - 2 running backs on the field with 3 receivers - is a productive way to pick up blitzes and create 1-on-1 match-ups on the perimeter.

With that, being able to also run the football effectively and in tandem with the 1 back running game is essential to any offense.

Join Dr. Andrew Fields as he explores the 2 back running game from the shotgun in a variation of the Air Raid offense.

As simple as it sounds, the four vertical passing game is one of the most intricate pass concepts in all of football. With its many variations versus different coverages, from different hashes, and from different formations, it takes an organized effort for an offense to perfect the nuances of this popular concept.

When run properly, the 4 vertical concept gives quarterbacks options to be successful, allows offensive coordinators to run it out a multitude of formations, and is easy to teach.

One of the remaining and long lasting concepts from the "Run-n-Shoot" era is Rocket, also known as the switch concept. While simplified over time, this option-based concept has been a 3rd down staple for teams all over the country and at all levels because of its adaptability and easy installation. A two-man concept, the Switch route offers an answer for any coverage both vertically and horizontally.

Join Dr. Andrew Fields as he explores the various options available within the concept, and how coaches can take advantage of any defense they may face.

Part of coaching football is simplifying the game for your players, while finding multiple uses for the same concepts as a coach. The SuperNova concept is a hybrid play concept that combines that vertical threat of the "Post-Dig" concept with the controlled rhythm of the "Shallow-Cross" concept.

Join Dr. Andrew Fields as he animates the concepts as one, organized, multi-purpose play that makes things simple for the players, and serves multiple uses for the playcaller.

SCHEMES INCLUDED

  • Super - Also known as the "Post-Dig", this vertical concept allows offenses to take advantage of overactive safeties and inside linebackers.
  • Nova - Also known as the "Shallow-Cross", this concept is a great opportunity to get "speed in space", as the receivers will typically catch the ball on the run, in space, and in between defenders.
